…owd size and movement forward is connected to collective outrage how can Black Women ever get free? How long can we continue to be both the backbone of this movement and it’s whipping post? How long can we endure our own pain being ignored?
I have so much love for your work and your words. 💕
I too am dedicated to lifting up Black women and girls, especially in our education system. The problem persists there as well and is largely invisible. It extends to the treatment of not only students, but parents and educators as well. I’ve found the only way to combat compounded oppressions is by creating Black family affinity groups to amplify our collective voices. It also serves as a way to mute attacks which use racist/sexist narratives to invalidate our voice.
